The Business & Media Institute incorrectly reported April 30 that NBC “Today” show host Matt Lauer had yet to mention the immense carbon footprint created by his ‘round the globe “Where in the World is Matt Lauer” feature.

Lauer did mention the environmental impact of his trip while answering a viewer question during the April 28 broadcast. He said the show is “calculating all of our air – not just my air travel, but every NBC employee who is flying as a part of this trip, we’re calculating that air travel and then we are purchasing carbon offsets.”

     We regret the error.
